At Premier Roofing & Construction Limited, health and safety is fundamental to everything we do. We are committed to maintaining safe systems of work that protect our operatives, clients, residents, tenants and the general public across all projects.

We operate in full compliance with UK health and safety legislation and continuously review our procedures to ensure risks are identified, controlled and managed effectively.

Compliance & Legislation

Our operations align with all relevant UK regulations and guidance, including:

Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
Work at Height Regulations
HSE guidance and approved codes of practice

We understand our responsibilities as a contractor and, where applicable, as a Principal Contractor, and ensure duties are clearly defined and implemented on every project.

Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)

Before works commence, detailed risk assessments and method statements are produced and reviewed for each project.

These include:

Task-specific risk assessments
Safe systems of work
Access and egress planning
Lifting and handling procedures
Control measures for occupied buildings

All operatives are briefed on site-specific RAMS before work begins.

Working at Height & Roofing Safety

Roofing works present inherent risks, which we manage through robust planning and control measures, including:

Appropriate access equipment and edge protection
Scaffolding designed and erected by competent contractors
Fall prevention and fall arrest systems where required
Regular inspections of access equipment and safety systems

Working at height is carefully planned and supervised to minimise risk at all times.

Training, Competence & Supervision

We ensure that all operatives and supervisors are competent, trained and suitably experienced for the work they undertake.

This includes:

Ongoing health and safety training
Toolbox talks and site briefings
Supervisor oversight on live sites
Use of competent subcontractors where applicable

Safety responsibilities are clearly communicated and enforced throughout the workforce.

Site Management & Public Safety

Many of our projects take place on occupied or public-facing sites. We implement measures to protect residents, tenants and members of the public, including:

Clear segregation of work areas
Signage and controlled access zones
Safe material storage and waste management
Regular site inspections and monitoring

Minimising disruption while maintaining safety is a key priority.
