Overview
Buckley Court is a seven-storey residential apartment building in South London that required a full refurbishment of its failing flat roof waterproofing system. The project involved carefully removing the existing green roof and solar PV panels before installing a new Nimbus waterproofing system to improve long-term performance. Both were reinstated following completion of the roofing works, with residents remaining safely in occupation throughout.

The Challenge
The existing single-ply roof had developed multiple defects, resulting in persistent water ingress. Faulty drainage and a defective AOV also contributed to ongoing issues. Restricted roof access, poor weather and the need to carefully remove and reinstate the existing green roof and solar PV panels added further complexity to the project.
Our Solution
The existing roof was stripped back to the concrete deck before a new Nimbus waterproofing system with tapered insulation laid to improved falls was installed. New rainwater outlets and a replacement AOV were fitted to improve drainage and reduce future water ingress, before the green roof was carefully reinstated. Close communication with the client and weekend working helped minimise programme delays caused by poor weather.
The Results
Approximately 290m² of new Nimbus waterproofing installed
Existing green roof successfully reinstated
Improved roof drainage with new rainwater outlets
New AOV installed to reduce future water ingress
Manufacturer-approved installation with a new warranty
Residents remained safely in occupation throughout the eight-week project
